Dr. Angelos is the Linda Kohler Anderson Professor of Surgery and the Chief of Endocrine Surgery at the University of Chicago. He is an Associate Director of the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics and has written widely on ethical issues in surgical practice and how to best teach medical ethics to surgical residents. An accomplished surgeon, Dr. Angelos has published many journal articles and book chapters on his research into improving outcomes of thyroid and parathyroid surgery, minimally invasive endocrine surgery, and best practices for thyroid cancer treatment. Dr. Angelos is Past Chair of the American Thyroid Association’s former Ethics Advisory Committee (2015-17), Past President of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES), and chair of the AAES Ethics Committee.
